Our vision
Australia is one of the largest producers of e-waste per person in the world, and unfortunately, a significant amount of the value of this waste stream is sent to landfill.
E-waste is a complex waste stream containing hazardous and dangerous items, and also high-value recyclable raw materials, that if extracted effectively can be reintroduced to the local economic cycle for reuse.
Scipher is one of the largest e-waste recycling and materials processing companies in Australia. We specialise in maximising the recovery of precious metals and materials from electronic items recognised as ‘e-waste’ under federal legislation, as well as a broader scope of devices, items and equipment.
Our vision is to be the leading e-waste and ITAD service provider in Australia. We work in partnership with suppliers and offtakers, waste management and logistics service providers, local councils and B2B clients, and other stakeholders including regulators, communities and social enterprise.
Our technology
Our solution to the ever-growing e-waste challenge is built around the technology, processes and people employed at our recycling facilities. Our industry-leading machinery and experienced operators achieve high-quality outcomes delivered transparently and cost-effectively.
Hardware
We utilise some of the world’s most advanced and powerful recycling machinery, sourced from top-tier local and international suppliers.
We establish long-term working relationships with our equipment suppliers and their agents, who are always on stand-by and are available to access real-time performance data to address any production or maintenance issues we may encounter.
We take a risk-averse approach to technology selection and ensure we install and commission only commercially tested and reliable equipment on our current and future processing lines.
A key piece of equipment in one of our Melbourne plant’s recycling lines is the Blubox, a complex recycling unit manufactured in Switzerland. The Blubox operates as a closed system under negative pressure, enabling the capture of all hazardous dust and vapours as e-waste is separated and recovered through the system.
Software
As part of the recycling service, all customers are provided with a detailed materials report produced by our waste tracking and reporting system, Sciphertech.
Scipher’s reporting abilities empower our customers with valuable data that they can share with others. It’s a transparent tool that helps us reduce the barrier to sustainable recycling solutions.
